How callers opt in to texts
Clarity Operations Systems LLC, which operates under the brand name ClarityOps Systems, runs a demo phone line, shared in person at networking events and client demos. An AI receptionist answers and books appointments for "Lakeview Home Services," a fictional business used only for demonstrations. Callers can choose to get a text confirming their demo appointment. Consent is given verbally, during the call, using the script below.
Status: text confirmations start after carrier registration is complete. Until then, no texts are sent.
When the offer is made
- The caller books a fictional demo appointment, and the booking is confirmed.
- Only then does the receptionist offer a text. Booking does not count as agreeing to texts.
- No text is offered if the caller's number is hidden or is not a US number.
The script, word for word
Receptionist"One last thing, and it's optional. This demo line is run by ClarityOps Systems, and Lakeview Home Services is a made-up business for the demo. Would you like a text confirmation of this demo appointment?"
If the caller says no, the receptionist says "No problem. No text." Nothing is sent.
Receptionist"I can text the phone you're calling from, the one ending in [last four digits]. You'd get up to two texts about this appointment. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Is it okay to text that number?"
- A text is sent only after a clear "yes" to this question.
- If the answer is unclear, the receptionist asks: "Just to be sure: should I text the number ending in [last four digits]? Yes or no?"
- If the caller asks for a different number, the receptionist says: "Sorry, for privacy I can only text the phone you're calling from."

Confirmation (sent right after consent):
ClarityOps Systems demo: your FICTIONAL Lakeview Home Services appointment is booked for [day, date, time]. No real visit will occur. Up to 2 msgs. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Update (only if the caller changes the time during the same call):
ClarityOps Systems demo: your FICTIONAL Lakeview Home Services appointment moved to [day, date, time]. No real visit. Final text. Reply STOP to opt out.
